Friesland Sixth Form hosted a representative from the University of Nottingham to promote their highly insightful ‘Ambition Nottingham’ scheme, which provides students with a very engaging package of activities in relation to preparing for higher education.
As part of this scheme, students have the opportunity to participate in a summer school at the university and receive individual subject and personal statement mentoring.
30 of our students then moved from a very local context to attending a presentation from a company that supports students to gain football scholarships as part of applications to American Universities. One of our students followed this pathway after achieving Distinction* in her Sport and Physical Activity course last year.
