As part of a landmark investment, the Two Counties Trust have invested in 7,000 new novels with a value of over £54,000. At Friesland School we are proud to announce we have 1000 new books in the new section of our library. This record investment is just one example of how we are broadening our student’s horizons through literature.

Each book has been carefully selected by the Trust’s Librarians to stretch and challenge our students whilst exposing them to the world we all share. By the time our scholars leave one of our schools we hope they will have read all 50 books.

On Wednesday 25th May we officially opened the new section of our library with a ribbon cutting event. Dan Goodall, Trust English Lead, said “I am delighted our students will have access to 1000 new books in our brilliantly stocked library and I can’t wait to hear about what our students have been reading.”

We also celebrated this landmark investment with DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) where students read their chosen book for ten minutes at the start of every lesson. It was a delight to see our students transported into the world of Literature.
